Freedom from Smoking (Jan 9-Feb 20)

Are you ready to quit smoking? Finding your path to a smoke-free life is easier with the right help.

The American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking program is a proven way to quit smoking—and stay quit—even if you’ve tried before and went back to smoking. Over the course of eight classes, you’ll set a quit date, build a quit plan, and work through your first smoke-free weeks with the support of your classmates.

Class dates: January 9, 16, 23, 30 and February 1, 6, 13, 20.

Living Well with a Chronic Condition (Jan 15-Feb 19)

Improve your quality of life and lower your health care costs with this 6-week interactive workshop that will help you take charge of your chronic disease. Learn techniques for dealing with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation; build your strength and endurance; and learn how to effectively communicate with family, friends, and health professionals. Participants will work together over this six-week course to share experiences, make action plans, and problem-solve alongside others with chronic conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, depression, asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.

Class dates: Tuesdays, January 15-February 19.

Healthy & Delicious Meals on a Budget (2-Day Class)

Get excited about cooking again with this interactive (and tasty) two-day class. You’ll learn how to plan, shop, save, and prepare simple, healthy meals while maintaining your budget.

Class dates: January 18 & 25.

De-stress with this low-impact yoga class combining gentle movement with mindfulness techniques.

Self-Care for Caregivers

Take responsibility for your self-care and improve your mental, emotional, and physical health. Identifying sources of strength, such as healthy activities, family, mentors, and friends can help minimize stress. Discussion will include identifying warning signs and ways to make self-care a priority.

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (Feb 14-Mar 21)

Take charge of your diabetes. Learn about self-care and symptom management and how to make choices that lead to better health. This interactive workshop includes hands-on activities, demonstrations, role play, and games in a fun and supportive environment.
