Freedom from Smoking (Nov 2- Dec 14)

Are you ready to quit smoking? Finding your path to a smoke-free life is easier with the right help. The American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking program is a proven way to quit smoking—and stay quit—even if you’ve tried before and went back to smoking. Over the course of eight classes, you’ll set a quit date, build a quit plan, and work through your first smoke-free weeks with the support of your classmates.

Class dates: Nov 2, 9, 16, 23, 25, 30 and Dec 7, 14  All classes are from 11 am-1 pm

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (Nov 5-Dec 10)

Take charge of your diabetes. Learn about self-care and symptom management and how to make choices that lead to better health. This interactive workshop includes hands-on activities, demonstrations, role play, and games in a fun and supportive environment.

Ready Set Safe- Preparing for Disaster

Disaster can strike at any time without warning. Learn how to make a plan to protect yourself, your family, and your property during natural and man-made disasters. This class covers types of disasters, key elements of disasters, understanding the hazards in your community, and how to develop your disaster plan.

Living Well with a Chronic Condition (Nov 6-Dec 11)

Improve your quality of life and lower your health care costs with this 6-week interactive workshop that will help you take charge of your chronic disease. Learn techniques for dealing with frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation; build your strength and endurance; and learn how to effectively communicate with family, friends, and health professionals. Participants will work together over this six-week course to share experiences, make action plans, and problem-solve alongside others with chronic conditions such as heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, depression, asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.
